Washington, DC, February 2, 2022…RuyakCherian LLP is pleased to announce that Adam A. Allgood has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Mr. Allgood is an experienced patent litigator. With over a decade of patent litigation experience in a variety of forums, he has tried patent cases to verdict, crossexamined technical expert witnesses, argued numerous Markman hearings, deposed and defended witnesses and experts in Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), drafted inter partes review (IPR) petitions, and argued final hearings before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB).

Initially licensed in November 2007, Mr. Allgood first served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. There, he tried numerous Federal Court civil trials to jury verdictmany as first chair trial counseland argued before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Allgood is also licensed to practice in California, the District of Columbia (DC), the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

As a former software engineer, Mr. Allgood is a prolific writer on technical matters and the law. He has published numerous articles, been cited by publications such as Law.com, and is a frequent speaker at conferences regarding such issue as legal ethics, technology use, and international litigation strategies.

He received both his Juris Doctor and undergraduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma And he holds a Certificate in Mediating Disputes from the Harvard Law School Executive Education program.
