Washington, DC, February 18, 2025… Cherian LLP, a leading Intellectual Property litigation boutique, announced today that the firm has welcomed Matthew R. Benner to the firm as Counsel. Mr. Benner will work out of the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Mr. Benner, a 2011 graduate of Cornell Law School, has practiced in a variety of litigation scenarios. He clerked for U.S. District Judge Lawrence Vilardo of the Western District of New York. As Judge Vilardo’s first law clerk, Matthew established chambers policies, trained co-clerks and interns and was the primary clerk for four jury trials.
Relocating after his clerkship to Washington, he established himself in the Washington DC IP community by his work on high-stakes patent-infringement cases in the major district courts across the country and at the Federal Circuit.
